Dowitcher
Designs prides itself on providing the complete services
of a design shop while featuring the specialty services of
desktop publishing, editing and photography. We are also
proud to be advocates for the environment, and use 100% recycled
paper for our advertising materials. We encourage our clients
and others to use high-quality recycled materials, to use
double-sided printing when appropriate (often more cost-effective),
and to support sustainability. Dowitcher Designs is run by
Jill Kingdon and Amber Wallace. Both have done freelance
graphic design and desktop publishing work in the past, and
now Jill and Amber combine their unique skills to offer a
full range of creative design and publishing services.
Jill
Kingdon holds a degree in art from
the University of California, Santa Barbara. She was
selected for the exclusive art studio honors program
her senior year, and exhibited her work in numerous
shows at UCSB. She brings her skills as an artist to
her creative graphic design work, and the combination
of her printing background and experience as a pre-production
manager help ensure that aesthetically pleasing files
are also print-ready.
Amber
Wallace holds
a degree from the College
of Creative Studies at the University of California,
Santa Barbara. She has edited and designed
numerous journals and anthologies, and is co-editor of AfroGEEKS:
Beyond the Digital Divide. Her specialties include technology and media production, especially web design and development. She currently teaches beginning web design for UCSB Extension.
