What We Do in 60 Seconds on the Internet

They say a lot happens in a New York minute. But a minute spent on the internet? That’s when things really get crazy.

Business data solutions company Domo recently pulled public information from social media, retail websites, analytics tools, and media companies to find the average number of web interactions that occur inside just 60 seconds — and the results are revealing:

  • Americans send 3,567,850 text messages
  • Snapchat users watch 6,944,444 videos
  • Twitter users send 9,678 emoji-filled tweets
  • Amazon makes $222,283 in sales
  • Netflix users stream 86,805 hours of video

The global internet population has grown from 2.1 to 3.4 billion in the last four years, and it’s only going to keep growing. Infographic data like this is fun to look at but also truly shows us where and how we’re spending our time online. These are key insights for marketers, techies, and pop culture fans alike.

Read on for more — and try to imagine all of this happening 1,440 times in a day. And when you’re done, tell me what app or platform gets most of your minutes? I think mine might be Instagram!
