Have You Created a Call-to-Action for Your Facebook Business Page Yet?
One of your first marketing goals for 2015 was to set up a call-to-action button on your Facebook business page, right?
Well, in case you haven’t, here’s your friendly, er, call-to-action.
At the end of last year, Facebook slowly began rolling out a new feature on business pages. The call-to-action button floats over your cover photo and is meant to help you meet your primary marketing objective. And now that it’s available on all business pages worldwide, there’s no excuse not to have one.
Here’s how it works:
- Log into your Facebook page as an admin and click Create Call-to-Action.
- Choose a button from the dropdown and enter a destination URL. You can also optionally enter a mobile URL. Click Next.
- On the next screen, you can choose to send iOS (iPhone and iPad) users to a website or to an app. Click Next.
- On the next screen, you can choose to send Android users to a website or to an app. Click Create.
That’s it! After the button is created, you can track how many people click on it by hovering over the button and then hovering over See Insights, or on the right side of your page you can go to This Week > CTA clicks.
To help streamline the process there are seven types of call-to-action buttons to choose from:
But do the buttons work? It would appear so. Facebook cited the success of online retailer Dollar Shave Club in early beta testing:
“Over the course of a three-week test, the Sign Up call-to-action button delivered a 2.5x higher conversion rate versus other comparable social placements aimed to drive new user acquisition.”
— Brian Kim, Director of Acquisition, Dollar Shave Club
Bottom line: Facebook’s call-to-action buttons are a great tool to help you meet your marketing objective — and they’re free. So if you have yet to set one up, what are you waiting for?
