What Do Successful Companies’ Logos Have In Common?
Your company logo isn’t the single gauge for success but it doesn’t hurt to have a well-thought-out, striking logo design. It is, after all, the face of your company – your brand identity that shows up all over your website, your signs, your print collateral, your building, and more.
What goes into a logo design? Are there any patterns that might indicate the businesses’ potential success? Thankfully, the people over at SmartSign did the legwork involved in finding out: they analyzed approximately 2,000 company logos (taken from the 2016 Inc. 5,000 List of America’s Fastest Growing Companies) and collected various data. They looked at attributes such as the structure of the logo (icon vs. wordmark), the dominant style (minimal vs. detailed), the shape (rounded vs. angular), color, and industry.
Some of the findings aren’t surprising. Minimal design is trendy right now and so it makes sense that 94% of the logos could be classified as such. Other findings reveal more interesting insights. Did you know successful companies tend to stick with simple palettes?
